To avoid getting pubic acne, keep the private areas clean by washing twice daily with a mild soap .Use a clean towel for drying.
Avoid tight fitting clothing that can irritate the skin and opt for cotton material underwear as it breathable and absorbs sweat.
Keep the area dry especially after rigorous physical exercise, excessive sweating and swimming. Make sure you change out of your moist or sweaty clothing immediately.
While shaving , use a shaving cream instead of plain soap and water.If you plan on waxing ensure the area is clean and exfoliate after hair removal to avoid the risk of ingrown hairs.Razors and blades should be kept clean and sharp.
Choose shower gels and soaps carefully as some contain harsh chemicals that irritate the skin. Stay away from products made with sulfates, parabens and phthalates and stick with natural products when you can.
PRECAUTIONS: It should be noted that some form of folliculitis are quite contagious. So, you can easily infect your partner when there is a skin to skin contact. Therefore, its important to seek treatment before engaging in any sexual activity.
